Tyrexpo Africa 2016 and GargageXpo Africa 2016 held from 8 – 10 March, at the Sandton Convention Centre Johannesburg South Africa. It has concluded on 10 March after three days of networking and a series of engaging training and demonstration sessions. The exhibition played host to close to 100 exhibitors from 19 countries, many of whom were keen to expand their business to the African continent.
This edition of Tyrexpo Africa saw the introduction of three new business segments –Automotive Repair & Maintenance, Services & Smart Solutions and Tyre Sustainability so as to offer buyers a more holistic platform for sourcing, aligned to the changing needs of the vibrant automotive industry in South Africa.
South Africa’s automotive industry has transformed into a global engine for the manufacturing and export of vehicles and components. With the wealth of investment opportunities in the industry and the increasing number of global companies establishing their production plants here, the government has identified it as a key sector for growth. It has implemented automotive industry programmes and policies to ensure that it becomes a major player in the global market. With this, Tyrexpo Africa remained strategically placed to tap into this growing market potential and work with our exhibitors to stay at the forefront of this competitive business landscape despite the current volatile economic environment in South Africa.
